Anton in Show Business
Fate and timing bring three very different actresses together to rehearse Chekov's "The Three Sisters." There's the innocent, just-of-the-bus actress, the TV star trying to incorporate classical stage work into her repertoire, and the hardened pro celebrating her 200th play without ever having been paid a salary. Like the original three sisters, these three actresses struggle to maintain self-esteem and hope as they confront typical theatre difficulties—eccentric directors, impossible critics, funding crises, and inept producers. Anton in Show Business displays the joys, angst, humor, and absurdities of theatre.
